RG Abrey Farms fresh produce site is located in the heart of the Brecklands in Norfolk and also in the Box Valley, Suffolk.
It is a 3rd generation family farming business growing combinable crops, sugar beet and specialising in early new season root vegetable production with modern storage for year round supply.
Annual production is in excess of 100,000 tonnes of root vegetables, supplied direct to major multiples, packers, wholesale and processing outlets, together with other arable crops which complement the rotation.
Our progressive approach is geared towards energy efficient production which is environmentally sympathetic targeting the highest accreditation standards.
The “brecks” often described as onion utopia, gives the perfect climate and growing medium for bulb onion production. The free draining soils give a bright stain free bulb with a high dry matter capable of being stored right through until June the following year.
Over a dozen varieties of early new season potatoes are grown on the sandy free draining soils giving an early production with a bright, smooth skin finish. The range includes Early baking potatoes, Maris piper, Reds and other more specialist lines.
The deep, fertile uniform sandy soil, characteristic of the Brecklands enable us to be one of the earliest producers of new season carrots in the country. Due to the high respiration rate of the immature crops they are lifted in the cool of the night, ensuring maximum freshness.
